His and Her Ceremonies, Los Feliz

    September 18th, 2005

    althea and david.

Today’s wedding was a crazy twelve hour event, but the time just flew by because we were having so much fun. Althea and David met as next door neighbors when they were teenagers, so they have been together for a long long time. Because of this, their wedding party was no less than 20 of their closest friends, and that doesn’t include the three adorable flower girls!

Althea and David had TWO ceremonies today – a full Catholic mass, and a lovely outdoor Jewish ceremony in the garden of the private residence where the reception was held.

The entire event was pulled off without a hitch by the suberb talents of Tracy Serreno of RSVP Event & Wedding Design.

David is super cool in my book because not only was he excited when I pulled out my Holga and loved the lensbaby shots I showed him, but he had just bought himself the Canon 20D to take on his honeymoon! Here are a some (but certainly not all) of my favorites:

    Los Angeles Magazine Party

    September 16th, 2005

On the rooftop of the Bel Age Hotel, Los Angeles Magazine threw a “Spa Party” tonight. Massages, manicures, eyebrows… it was all available along with champagne and Borba water! I searched the house today and finally found my pocket digital camera so I was able to properly document our evening. (no more cell phone photos for the blog!) I went with my new party buddy, Tiffany Nainkin. Another industry event, another reason to dress up! I love this photo Tiffany took of me fussing with my jacket!

We couldn’t BELIEVE the generous gift bags they gave us at the end of the night! Seriously, they were the BEST gift bags I’ve ever received from one of these industry parties. Crazy good stuff in there:

    Party at Paramount

    September 15th, 2005

I really need to find my little pocket digital camera… my cell phone just isn’t cutting it for these nighttime social (read: necessary schmoozing) events I keep going to!

Last night I went to a really cool party thrown by “The Knot” for all of its advertisers. I am really grateful to The Knot because they have featured so many of my weddings. (click here to check them out…) I loved their theme of pink and white Gerber Daisies because that is my favorite flower. The event was put on by my friend and co Bridal Bar member, Mary Sushinski of Occasions.

Its fun to have the opportunity to dress up and socialize with other wedding vendors. I went with my good friend and talented photographer, Dina Douglass, and here is a silly shot from my cell phone with our friend Tiffany Nainkin!

and this is me in my new cocktail dress in front of The Knot daisy and the paramount gate.
