Last week I was asked to participate in the local SF East Bay Photography Meetup Group as a wedding and family photography expert. There was a mini trade-show going on where local vendors brought products and local experts gave advice! Joy and I brought a few albums and slideshows and answered questions by photographers who are very new to the industry. If you are a local photographer who wants to get involved, this is a great group to try!

“The Art of Gift Wrapping” book release is finally here!

Last year, I took on a project with the lovely Wanda Wen, founder of Soolip, and I shot all of the photography for her book, “The Art of Gift Wrapping.” The book is finally out and there is a cocktail reception this Saturday, April 17th, to celebrate! Come by to see the book and have it signed by both me and Wanda.

Today, December 18th, is the last day to qualify to win the Express 7 messenger bag from Tamrac!. All you have to do is sign up for the Orange County “Light, Location & Love” workshop I’m teaching with Camera DoJo’s Kerry Garrison on Tuesday, January 26th.

Kerry is a master at the technical side of lighting and will teach lighting in a controlled environment. I plan to show how I look for light and deal with it in any type of situation I come up against at my weddings & engagement shoots. We’re teaching the workshop down in Orange County at a tiny version of the White House.

I’m really excited to announce that I was chosen to lead one of the instructional shooting workshops at this year’s Pictage Partner Conference in New Orleans in November. This is Pictage’s 5th year of hosting PartnerCon and the 5th time I have participated.

If you are a photographer, you need to be at this Conference! It is so much fun and there is such an amazing line-up of talented photographers to learn from. Plus, we will be participating in a charity event to help families who lost their photographs in Katrina have new ones taken!
