THANK YOU to all of the families who came out to the studio on Monday to participate in our Halloween Portrait Thornhill Elementary Fundraiser. We had so much fun and were very impressed with all of your costumes!

I want to extend a HUGE thank you so both Shelly Waldman and Ananda Shorey for coming and helping out with the event. We couldn’t have done it without you girls!!

We’ve been at the studio all day today decorating and setting up lights and pumpkins for our 2nd Annual Halloween Event! Thank you to my nieces, Penny & Millie, and of course to Ms. Olive for posing for these pre-event photos as I set up the lights and set the scene. What cute girls!!

If your little ghost or goblin will be in the Oakland, Montclair area tomorrow, come on by to be photographed, snack on treats, receive goodies and more! This year we are having the event in tandem with our neighbors, Thornhill Elementary, so donations will be collected to support the school.

A Soolip Wedding in San Francisco

I have had a love affair with Soolip Paperie & Press for a very long time. I met Soolip founder, Wanda Wen, back in 2005 have since photographed her family, Soolip invitations, all of the images in her first book, the store, as well a few of A Soolip Weddings. So of course I was really pleased to be a part of the first San Francisco A Soolip Wedding at the Bentley Reserve this past Sunday.

It was a gorgeous event with a fashion show by Marina Morrison and non-stop entertainment by Wayne Foster. Click the following links to check out all of the incredible exhibitors & partners

I want to say a HUGE THANK YOU to both April Rocha and Shelly Waldman for not only helping me set up and break down my darling booth but for shooting the event with me so that I could chat with brides and participate on the “Engaging with the Experts” panel, and to Krista Jon for providing the stunning flower arrangements at my booth. LOVE you girls!!!

Also, I wanted to congratulate Diep & Tim who won free wedding photography by me in the Soolip raffle!! I am so excited to shoot your Casa Real at Ruby Hill wedding!!

Last month I was asked by the Oakland Chamber of Commerce to photograph the mayoral debate. It was very interesting being able to listen to them answer questions and to be right up front in the thick of things. My photographs were published in the next issue of the Oakland Business Review.

Temple Israel of Hollywood Bat Mitzvah

Earlier this month, Joy and I were in Hollywood shooting the darling Lily Rosenthal’s Bat Mitzvah. We had so much fun because Lily’s family is amazing. Her pink & purple Paris-themed Mitzvah benefitted the Epilepsy Foundation of Los Angeles. The party was not only flawlessly executed by Yvonne Wolf but it was a REALLY fun event!!

Okay, this is how behind I am on my blog…Back in January I was hired by the fabulously talented Cara of Caravents to shoot the party she coordinated at the Sunset Tower Hotel in Hollywood as R&B veteran and songstress, Mary J. Blige was awarded an inaugural Essence Black Women in Music Award for her generous contribution to music. Cara is so great at pulling high-end events together flawlessly. I have shot for her several times, and this night was really fun and elegant at the same time.
