Boo, the world’s cutest dog.

Some of you may know that I photographed the darling pups Boo and Buddy a little while back…before I discovered Boo was an internet sensation on Facebook. Now Boo has his own book, had a book signing and has over 3.5 MILLION fans on Facebook. Yeah, MILLION. I even heard that when Boo was recently in New York, it wasn’t long before he was mobbed by people who recognized him on the spot. I think Olive might be slightly jealous.

Recently, we were contacted by Gund to see if they could use one of the images from our Boo & Buddy San Francisco shoot for their new plush Boo! Of course we were thrilled at the prospect, and thrilled for little Boo. He really IS the world’s cutest dog. And practically a plush toy himself.

All About the Dogue Portraits!!

Recently, Joy and I made friends with Lena, owner of the uber cool Emeryville dog salon, All About the Dogue. Lena joined us for our last Mutt Mugshots event to have her darling dogs, Magic & Benito, photographed. I ended up creating a 40 inch sign for her to put into her own storefront as a way for us to cross-promote!! Thank you, Lena!

Recently, Joy & I photographed two of the MOST unbelievably adorable Pomeranians puppies, Boo & Buddy. Rather than doing a simple Mutt Mugshots Session, Boo and Buddy’s human mom chose to shoot her pups in a lifestyle session around San Francisco.

I LOVE this 9-up she chose to frame for her wall!

Happy Birthday, Olive!

Sunday, April 25th is Olive’s 12th birthday. I remember 12 years ago how surprised we were when my mother’s dog, Charlie, had puppies because no one even knew she was pregnant. I was there the day my Olive was born, and I took her home with me only four weeks later. I remember trying to project into my future to imagine what my life with a dog might be like. Now I can’t imagine my life without her. She has been the very best dog and friend I could have ever hoped for, and she makes me laugh and feel happy every day.

Animal Rescue Foundation Benefit: Mutt Mugshots

The Mutt Mugshots event today was SO much fun. We had 15 gorgeous dogs and raised $150 for ARF so far. Besides the $10 per dog, 5% of the packages purchased from these sessions will also go to ARF, so we don’t have the final numbers yet. I couldn’t help myself…even though I’m the farthest behind on my blog I’ve EVER been, I had to do a little sneak peek of today’s events.

This is Olive’s friend, Rabbit. Rabbit was recently diagnosed with cancer and needs treatments. My heart would be broken if Olive were sick, and I really want to help Rabbit and her family.

Best Friends Pet Adoption Day

So at my November 11th PUG I said I wanted to start doing more charity work. The very next day, my friend, Roberto Valenzuela, sent me an email asking if I would be interested in being the photographer for the Best Friends Animal Society Pet Adoption Day at the La Brea Tar Pits. Being completely obsessed with my own dog, Olive, I was really excited to do it. I didn’t realize how heart breaking the event would be for me. Every pet wore a little shirt or bandana that said “Adopt Me” that just got me so choked up. (It kind of reminded me of the episode in “Freaks & Geeks” where Bill whispers “pick me pick me!” every time they choose teams for P.E….that always made me well up a little.) I wanted to take every single pet home.
